The nonprofit Centre Performing Arts Company located in Fauquier County announces internationally renowned dancers from American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Cory Stearns and SunMi Park will be dancing the roles of the Cavalier and the Sugar Plum Fairy in its Nutcracker production on December 7 and 8 at Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Virginia. Other leading roles in the production are performed by local students and professionals, a rare opportunity for young local dancers to work closely with top professional dancers during rehearsals and performances.
The Centre Performing Arts Company is thrilled to offer a full-length Nutcracker ballet to audiences in the Piedmont region. This year, the Centre Performing Arts Company will bring 2 beautifully staged, professional level, Nutcracker matinee performances that are abundant in glorious costumes, magical staging and production, and stunning dancers. Other dancers in the cast are local teachers and students, including Mark Rubin (of the Alvin Ailey and Joffrey dance companies) as Dr. Drosselmeyer, Katherine Ackerman as Clara, Peter Aldean as Fritz, Saige Fisher as the Naughty Mouse, Gemma Abdulwahab as the Snow Queen, Karolina Dengel as the Flower Soloist, and Lilly Knisely as the Peacock.
Performances are both matinees, December 7 and 8 at 4:00 pm at Fauquier High School, 705 Waterloo Rd, Warrenton, Virginia. Reserved tickets are on sale at https://buy.tututix.com/centreperformingartscompany. Tickets are $38 for adults, $30 for children (12 and under), and free for children under 2.
